FRM Hauberk, mixed flat link, 8 mm lD, untreated. This high-quality, hand-knotted chainmail is known as a Hauberk. This means it is a long-sleeved, knee-length chainmail armor. These powerful suits of armor covered most of the body. This historically authentic cut was often widened with front or side slits to provide the wearer with more legroom.
As a result, these long chainmail shirts can also be worn comfortably by knights on horseback. Our hauberk generally has no slits, so it can be customized by the customer if needed.
It also has tapered sleeves that taper approximately every 5 cm. The FRM mail type: This is a European flat-linked mail that was produced and used in various variations and with different ring diameters from antiquity to the late Middle Ages. It is made exclusively of flat chain links. The alternating rings and perforated rings are joined in a 4-in-1 weave. This type of weave was and still is used. This type of weave was and is less labor-intensive than the fully riveted weave, as only every second ring is riveted. The rings are riveted with round rivets, resulting in a round, hemispherical rivet head. We abbreviate this authentic weave type as FRM (=Flatring Roundrivets Mixed).
Available in three sizes (M, L, and XL). The dimensions of the individual sizes are measured fully stretched.
