The 11th-century Norman Olmutz-type conical helmet with nasal bridge is a historical replica inspired by helmets used in Europe during the Early Middle Ages. This type of helmet appeared as early as the first half of the 9th century and remained one of the most characteristic pieces of military equipment of the period. It was commonly worn over a chainmail coif, which provided complete head and neck protection. It was particularly popular with medieval heavy cavalry and represents one of the most iconic models of Norman warfare.
The helmet is entirely handmade by Italian craftsmen from carbon steel, following the ancient armor-making tradition passed down since the Middle Ages. It is a fully wearable helmet designed for both combat and medieval historical reenactments and performances. Its conical shape with nasal bridge offers good facial protection while maintaining excellent visibility.
For maximum comfort, the helmet's interior features an adjustable leather liner that allows it to be adjusted to the wearer's head. The helmet also features a leather chin strap with a brass buckle and leather straps for a secure, stable fit. The internal padding improves the fit and makes the helmet more comfortable to wear.
